Why Compliance Matters

Courses are available in multiple languages, including English and Spanish, with additional languages added regularly to support diverse teams.

California-Standard, National-Ready

California sets some of the most rigorous requirements in the U.S. Our programs are designed to meet current California standards—so organizations operating in California or elsewhere get training that generally aligns with or exceeds many other states’ baselines. Cadence and content details can vary by jurisdiction (for example, some states require annual training), so you should confirm any state-specific rules that apply to your locations.

What California Requires (at a glance)

Harassment Prevention (Gov. Code §12950.1):
Employers with five or more employees must train nonsupervisory employees and supervisors within six months of hire or assuming the role and at least every two years thereafter; training must be effective/interactive and cover abusive conduct and other protected categories.
Workplace Violence Prevention (SB 553 / Labor Code §6401.9):
Most employers must maintain a written Workplace Violence Prevention Plan, provide employee training, and keep a workplace-violence incident log (effective July 1, 2024). Cal/OSHA is developing a standard; statutory obligations apply now.
Injury & Illness Prevention Program (8 CCR §3203):
All employers must implement an IIPP that includes employee training on safe work practices relevant to workplace hazards.

Examples Beyond California

Many states and cities impose their own harassment-training mandates. A few examples:

New York State/City:
Annual sexual-harassment prevention training for all employees.
Connecticut (CHRO):
Two hours for most employees; timing rules for new hires and supervisors.
Illinois (IDHR):
Annual sexual-harassment prevention training for all employees.

Result:

Many states and cities now require their own harassment-training programs. SCG helps organizations meet multi-state compliance with one platform.
